I have this P.A. type amplifier, from some WWII megaphone device. I do not have the microphone - speaker horn, so this one will go under the screwdriver
to harvest its tubes and transformers. The nameplate says "Taybern TPM-4 Electric Megaphone / Approved by Merchant Marine Inspection Division /
United States Coast Guard / 4-44 ". Taybern also manufactured lifeboat transmitters, which is where I am familiar with their name. I thought I had the
manual for this thing, but it turned out to be for a Guided Radio Corp. megaphone with 2 tubes. This TPM-4 has 4 valves, 1H6 2x 1H4 1J6. I cannot figure
out what the 1H6 triode/ duodiode is for, unless the diodes were used for some kind of automatic level control. I wonder if anyone here has a schematic
for this thing. Possibly the transformers might be usable as replacement spares for a battery powered home "farm radio" from the era.
