Back when I had a working TBY-2, I built an 
"Antenna adaptor" out of a bit of all-thread, some
hobby-shop brass pipe and a large nut.  It allowed
you to screw on the adaptor, then one of those
loaded "CB" antennas.  It worked well.

I no longer have a TBY.  I will send this to 
the first person who will pay the shipping,
which will probably run 5-6 bucks.
