I left the Hamvention Friday evening, packed up and went home, actually had
a case of heat stroke, heat & humidity really got me Friday afternoon.
Sales were dismal, in two days, Thursday & Friday, sold about $100. Crowd was
off, did not see people carrying much, did not see a lot of the folks I
know from far away, looked a lot like a small local hamfest, just scaled up.
No test equipment vendors, no microwave stuff for me, some mil stuff, even
quantity of newer green radios and spare parts (looks like some of the long
timers I know are getting out of the repair business), solid state stuff. I
am sure Nick England will have a lot of nice photos of things I missed.

I will go again next year (this my 44th year), but I am bringing small
stuff that fits in a pocket, as boat anchors, even modest ones, were not moving
out very briskly from what I saw, I think parking issues impacted sales of
some big stuff.
I am sure that next year will see big improvements, although they did not
do badly this year. Always tough when a fest moves and I think the guys did
pretty well, when all things, like rain, are considered.
