Thanks for the kind words, Ray.
The "Eye tube" is, I think, uniquely Brit,
because it has an Octal base, unlike any
U.S. 6-Volt Eye-tube of which I'm aware.

A couple of people are disappointed that I decided
to just disconnect the cap leads and tack-in
subs, but I don't think they're considering my
priorities and goals: to make the radio play
(and thus be preserved) with as much preservation
of its original circuitry which is consistant with those goals.
There just isn't any way one is going to get most
of these cans out for "re-stuffing" without major
disassembly of the rig and major damage to the
wiring, plus the real possiblity of breaking
stuff like band switches that would render
it a "Parts" radio, headed for the dump like
all the other dead and "museum mummy" radios.

Don't have the meter as yet. Will be watching for it.
Or the original connectors, of course, but will be
looking for all those goodies.

Breck Smith did an absolutely awesome and lovely
complete restore on his, including shock mount,
the meter and loop all neatly mounted.
Breck also used Jones Connectors and creative
engineering to produce connectors that look and
function like the originals. I bow to the master.
Breck, you really should post
those photos for everyone to see.

My gratitude to all who are contributing the
this project.
