No strictly to do with Spits or Mustangs but historical
local flavour from OZ.
Not in crates, but available if you knew the ropes. back in the
late 60's I was introduced to a chap in Hong Kong who sold
ham gear--- a Phil White if I recall ,
He had access to what the USA was unloading from Okinawa or
there abouts and the upshot was I managed to import 2 container
loads of gear including R-390A and the other variants plus test
gear of the age , much of which was still boxed.
Now all sold off of course.
Manuals for R-390A were never available and even a visit
to open day at a military base where a R-390A was on display ,
my request for a technical background got me the response that
item was still classified.
Somehow I got the address for the Document repository/printing
in Washington (I think) and asked about manuals...... Reply
was 'how many would you like "?
Cheers
