So Dave, do you suppose having the BC-375 identified to the plane, would allow them to yank out the transmitter only, with its plugged in TU,
for some service report, like low modulation or frequency jumping or whatever, and they wouldn't have to carry out all the rest of the TUs,
like they would have, presumably, if they just swapped out the transmitter?

they were removed.  Also a BC-375 identified
with a B-24's tail number stencilled on it.
Actually found the service record for that aircraft:
it was transferred to the Navy and stationed in Maryland.
Used on patrol duty off the U.S. Northeastern coast.
So yes; radio stuff was at least sometimes marked
with the serial of the aircraft in which it was deployed.
