Dave, your R1155A has the original Type 13 vernier dial. The attached file shows the Type 35.
The Break Free-CLP I mentioned in an earlier post may be found in the gun lubricant section at Walmart, usually in spray form. The liquid form works best for panel restoration work, so you may need to call a gun store to find it in that form. It's not cheap, but it works netter than anything I've ever tried for restoring painted surfaces, especially wrinkle finish after the dirt has been washed away. It will eventually dry. It penetrates so well that the faded non-metallic nomenclature tag on my BC-348-R darkened after treatment and has remained looking near new for 20 years.
I'd be tempted to refressh the R1155A's appearance before starting the electrical work. :-)
