[Milsurplus] Spring/Summer Project

Having worked on both have to say that if you're looking for challenges think the R-1155 is the trick, everyone I have seen has all bad capacitors. The big square ones in the power supply are no big deal but the multi capacitors in the aluminum tubes are a bear at best. Not being a superior restorer I opted for just removing them and replacing them with modern orang drops on the chassis but somehow don't see you doing that. Also I removed what was left of the original DF circuit being most was missing and installed a AC power supply in its space but think that if you want to set an example of how it's done right you have to get the indicator and get the DF section working. And last but not least all the tubes have to be the British numbers like VR-100 for a 6K7
I had the advantage of the R-1155 that I built was already hacked and what I wanted to build was a copy of what many if not all R-1155 were that were in amateur service in the fifties and sixties so did not have to do everything to what I know are your exacting standards. So there it is. The gauntlet!
Not much more difficult doing an ATD then an ART-13 but the British R-1155 restored to WW2 condition and working would be an accomplishment.
At least that's my two cents worth. Attached is a couple pictures of the one I did, but remember the one I did is the "Ham Hacked" version and not the Lancaster bomber version.
