All,
It’s Saturday AM, the Charlotte AWA meet is still going on this morning but here’s another recap:
The weather was perfect and turnout was great in both the fleamarket and in the auction.
A beautiful complete DeForest Interpanel set sold for $2500 or approximately 25% of it’s valued price
A beautiful PRC-64 sold for $675 working with ham band xtals and accessories as did the RS-6 set also w/accessories
(there was a "Clandestine Radios of WWII and Beyond" presentation and demo on Thursday afternoon that may have helped these:-)

Below are picts of the auction room staging room a few hours prior to the auction beginning
(there was more by the time the auction began)

Of special interest to me is the WWII German Lo40K39d transmitter with EEIS # painted on the front -
EEIS = Enemy Equipment Intelligence Service
I demoed a working Lo40K39d transmitter Thursday afternoon as part of “The Missing Radios of the U505” presentation and I was lucky to end up with this other transmitter. I hope to be able to find the original report on this item for a future article or talk.
Another first for us as part of this presentation:
We Skyped in a co-presenter - Retired US Navy Captain Jerry Mason, now living in Vancouver B.C. - which worked great and we look forward to having remote presenters join us in the future.
Next year the 2018 Charlotte AWA meet will be the fourth weekend in March and will be even larger - a “combined meet” with crypto collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world also attending and presenting. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend (and bring some military radios with you).
We hope to see you here!
Best,
brian
