It's odd that BITE passes as a signal is injected for some of those tests. Are
you absolutely sure there is a problem? Band conditions lately have been
horrible lately and I can't pick up WWV or CHU either. In the evening can you
pick up the annoying JT signalling on 5357 USB? I really doubt anything on your
power line made it through the power supply to take something out and if a
tantalum cap were shorted the BITE wouldn't pass. I've fixed a number of these
receivers and have a 590A myself. I don't remember the internal connectors,
maybe SMB? Where are you located?
