In these articles, it is recommended to fit brass or
copper tubing with set-screws to connect to the
pins of the tubes.
I don't think this is a good idea. Unless one can
get the pins, sockets and set-screws precisely
aligned, one is going to put side-wise torque
on the pins. Even a small amount of side torque,
given the gas-incursion history of this tube, is very
likely to finish-off the seal if not break the tube.
