[Milsurplus] Removing Knob White Stuff?

The white mold is, i think, a fungus growth and has nothing to do with exudation from within the plastic.
This problem has been dealt with in the home-radio collector community for many years. I have seen maybe
a dozen articles on its solution, and it was not a difficult process to clean them and kill the mold, as i
recall. I do not have any articles referenced or listed in my own literature collection but i am pretty
confident that if you either look online for such articles or ask on the antiqueradios.com forum you
will get the advice you seek.
