[Milsurplus] TCM-2 - more info.

I scan at 300dpi and scan via Adobe Acrobat directly into PDF. Document
Settings is "Make Searchable (Run OCR)" with output style ClearScan. This
results in OCR pages that are much more compact than other methods I have
tried. I scan at 1-bit for text/diagrams. I often stay at 1-bit for manual
images since these are not continuous tone photos but actually half-tone
images. Sometimes I go to 4-bit grayscale for better manual images.  I'll
use 8-bits when I have a real photographic print.
