Great work!!
Along with the obvious reward of seeing the old girl come back to life
Dave, isn't it just amazing to not only see it work, but just how well it
works? I've been in awe of these ancient relics and marvel each time I hear
a crackle followed by audio emerging from an old horn or cone speaker as
one comes back to life after decades of darkness. It truly embodies that
'magic of radio' feeling.
VT-1s can be had for a lot less money, but still not cheap by any means.
Hundreds vs thousands. I'll check with some of the hard core folks who have
helped me out in the past, and see what they come up with for subs. I don't
have any documentation unpacked yet, but I'd think there is a trail of
sorts leading through the teens-twenties as advancements were made. I think
the base configuration is referred to as the Navy base while other
applications used the European base, plug-in pins like the WD-11 etc.
