Tom, i think it kind of odd that a receiver probably equal to the R-1155 had to be removed and returned to sender once arrived in U.K.
The E.R. ad for the AR-2, would that have been around 1995 ?  I was living in Omaha at that time and bought one, in the wood transit
case, from an ad. I forget the seller’s name at moment, but i recall reading, again possibly in E.R., about his passing away, a few years
later.
BTW, anyone know more about that ( possibly ) Marconi postwar aircraft HF receiver with the film-tape tuning scale?
There was one on Epay a few years back, offered from Australia. I was sorely tempted, but the thing was far enough from real good
condition that i skipped it. This was the first time i had ever seen one and i wondered how and why they were so rare.
