[Milsurplus] the postwar armored series

Yes, i think the production list says something like 176 sets delivered.
Rauland ads in 'Radio News' magazine touted its use in CBI, and Tim N6CC has interviewed a veteran who seems to verify that.
I have to confess i had one in high school days many eons ago, but i was gulled into swapping the receiver section for some
useless BC-429, and that ensured the destruction of my example.
I have one now and the bag and PP-239 ( i think it is ) but bags seem to be X-rare to find for the accompanying BC-1306.
The RT-? / TRC-2 is an interesting radio but actually for my own purposes, the frequency range is not useful. Yes, i do know
it tunes 160 meters. I'm sort of undecided about trying to 'complete' this set, as far as that may be possible at this time.

I sure wish the BC-1306 tuned a little higher to 40M. I think maybe this could be accomplished by leaving the HFO as is and
aligning for the upper image freq. That still leaves the transmitter retuning and that's nontrivial as the circuit is VFO-doubler +
PA and there's the tracking problem.

Also in this family of GRC-9 related radios is the RT-12/TRC-2 with looks and circuitry identical to the BC-1306 except it covers 1.4 through 3.5 MHz.
I have the receiver section of one but not the rest of it. Fairly rare radio. Mike, W6MAB
