There were RT-70, -70A, and -70B/GRC units, with some significant circuit differences between the RT-70 and RT-70A versionz.

The RT-70*/GRC is part of eight different radio sets:
AN/GRC-3 to -8, AN/VRC-7, and AN/PRC-16.

I bought my first RT-70A in 1976 from John Meshna's store in Lynn, MA.

In my collection today is the small AN/VRC-7 set:

But my favorite is 250-lbm "maximumm" combo:

It's a shame that these sets never had much popularity with hams. They were important best-in-world-class tactical FM sets in their day.

Part of the AN/UIC-1 if no radios are used.

Did these sets, along with AN/PRC-6, 8, 9, 10 sets, keep you pretty busy? :-)
