I have this Navy DF set that is similar to the BC 1003 but covers up to 2mcs and has a external hook up for the sense antenna and a separate power supply that I do not believe is a dynamotor.
The only printed info on the set is as follows:
U.S. Navy
Simon Radio Guide
Radio Navigational Instrument Corp New York, NY
Type P s/n 63
It's interesting to note on the cross needle indicator it shows Ahead and Astern.
Unfortunately the freq dial is missing and will be difficult to replace if not impossible.
After all this...my question is has anyone ever seen one of these and how and where were they used on board a ship?
If anyone has any printed info or manual I'd like to hear what it says about the set.
Thank you and wishing the group a Happy & Healthy New Year .
Paul
