[Milsurplus] How to open connectors ?

On a tip from Dave, I've been doing them the same way for years. Also
works on the mini-bananna connectors for the Command Sets and others such as
AN/ARC-3. And very early black AN and K-Series connector inserts. The later
blue or tan ones don't seem to swell.

Once in a great while, one will still be stuck (untill you get it out the
first time). For these, I made a remover tool set. The driver is about
5/16" diameter, with one end counterbored to fit over a solder cup. After
counterboring, walk the mill out one side. This is for some of the inserts where
there isn't a contact more or less centered and the back shell has a very
small ferrule, like the GF/RU.. Then I made three 1" thick receivers of
aluminum. Bore a hole through that is a slip fit for the three insert
diameters. Then spot face about 030" deep by 1-1/8", 1-1/4" and 1-1/2", the three
shell diameters.
