I haven’t looked at the insides of one of these in actual decades, but i know about “layer construction”.  So I think the BC-654 is off the experiment.
BTW, i did sell one last year to a vehicle fellow – he said it worked with no repair required. Amazing !

Has anyone ever successfully rebuilt the receiver power supply for the 654? The sorry things seem to be built in layers from the inside out. I don't see how it's possible to recap it and get it working. At least without destroying it.
