Important to Note:
This manual covers the *earlier* version of the radio
with the key bypassing switch.
The nomenclature is a bit confusing
(I got it mixed up, too).
The *early* radio is BC-9, Part of SCR-77A
The *later* radio is BC-9A, Part of SCR-77B
What I have is the BC-9A. It began as the early
BC-9, built in 1921. It was later modified to
BC-9A and the nomenclature plate was stamped
to indicate the modification.

(still work to do on that plate. It was a real mess)
Information surfaces for the early radios,
but little or nothing for the -A later sets.
I think I'll write the Signal Corps museum.
Although there is a way to pencil-mark a freq
for "TX," I can't accept that this freq shift
was "normal." The offset amounts to "half a channel"
on the frequency dial. It could be done, I suppose.
The always-near-broke 1920s Signal Corps
ordered later -A radios in at least 1927 and 1929.
They couldn't afford expensive non-working props.
There simply must be an SCR-77B manual
out there somewhere.

Didn't get a chance to do much "play radio"
this weekend. Back to the grind.
Happy Monday, everyone.
And please accept my sincere thanks for ALL
the input. As with any science, those roads which
do not lead directly to the goal point the way
to the ones that do.
