But I agree with Dave: this thing could NOT have operated effectively this way. There has 
GOT to be something about it we have missed.

I am going to attempt to re-draw the entire circuit in a form which is more familiar to us and 
take a very close look at it.

One thing I am curious about is "F", the "filter". Is this the original filter or is it a recent 
repair.

Also, I have been searching for the specifications for a VT-1 but so far have found very little. 
Anyone?
