Thank you for the thoughts, Hue. I am making
the replica loop from 1/2 in. copper tubing- close
as I can come to the brass originals. I missed
the BG-18 antenna bag, which contained most
of the original antenna for the set by about 5 mins.
at the Belton, Texas hamfest years ago.
Mike Payne beat me to it and, last I heard,
it went to August Link- which should tell you
how long ago that was, LOL.
Must be 15+ years this one has been
waiting for me to get it to the bench.

If you look at the circuit diagram, the fixed caps
in the "center tap" are 750 pFd. I measured the
"band set" C3, and IIRC it was also 750 pFd.
C4 is the tuning cap and I have not measured it.
It's big but only three total plates- two stator
and one rotor.

With the external link-coupled coil I'm using,
I'm sure the IR losses are far and away more
with those clip-leads than with the original
loop (relatively, of course). I will be working
on the loop as time is available over the
next week. A few minutes here, a few
minutes there and it gets done eventually.
I'm also curious how it performs.
