Someone in the US sent me a BC-230 which was valued at US$45.00.
With the addition of air freight, the total was US$160.00.
Converted to NZ$, that became NZ$204.31. There was a bank transfer
fee of NZ$30, so my bank debited me $234.31.
I considered it money well spent. I had owned a BC-230 decades ago,
was twiddling my thumbs with no project going forward, and looked on
it as a nostalgic restoration project.
Yes, it cost me a lot of $hamburger.00 but I have only seen one set
advertised locally since and it wasn't in as good condition as mine. It
did however, have the full set of original tubes, VT-25 and VT-52!!
