[Milsurplus] I think this was where the extinguishers were mentioned...

Hi,

Fire extinguishers (with powder) are supposed to be serviced every year 
of two, That means dumping them and refilling/recharging them in service 
facilities designed to do that. I successfully extinguished two 
different fires with the extinguisher I carried in my truck over a 
couple of decades (or so).

When I got the extinguishers with plastic parts I questioned their 
reliability. Even though one of them actually worked I am looking for 
something different. It's easy enough to put those in some out of the 
way corner and forget about them for decades. Just like your emergency 
generator you will be disappointed when the time arrives and the need is 
great. Take care of those extinguishers.
