OK ours has the place to put the look in the back.

It may be fired up someday but for now when in building would be under
glass.

I thought I'd mention that the Army also had a non-loop version of the
basic radio.
It was the BC-156. There was a third one, with a different freq range, but
 without
consulting my manuals I don't recall if this third one was a loop model or
not. No –
wait – it WAS a loop model, because it's covered in the same manual as the
SCR-131.
The non-loop BC-156 just uses a standard LC circuit for the #10 tube
transmitter.
The antenna is tapped right off the coil. So, until you find the actual
antenna, which
will occur "never", or fabricate one yourself, you could incorporate a
tuned circuit,
IF you wish to operate the set. ( But I gather, you will not be operating
the set. )
I presume the BC-156 was intended for longer range work. The one vet told
me that
clipping a dipole antenna on the BC-148 / SCR-131 loop antenna gave
something like
15 miles range. ( Maybe he said 35 miles, but I will go with 15, and
until I find any
notes I made, I will stay with the 15 figure. )
