Back in the mid 70's here in the SF Bay Area I met a gentleman selling at the Foothill swap meet here , he was somewhat of a regular, and would occasionally have some WW2 mil radio pieces.
We got to talking one day and I told him I had recently acquired a BC 474...well he told me he knew that radio well because he was in the Army before the war stationed in one of the southern states
that may well have been Louisiana and that before the war there was a big war games operation that was being held in that part of the country and that he and another ham in his Company made
a vibrator /dynamotor supply for the BC 474 so they could operate the radio out of a jeep and a Dodge truck. A few years later I saw this same photo in some publication and wanted to show it
to him but he was no longer at the swaps here locally. I could just kick myself for not getting any more info from him . If I only knew more about preserving his story back then..but being 20 something
I had other things on my mind.

If I hadn't seen this tiny photo of it, I wouldn't have
believed it. SCR-288 (BC-474) installed in a vehicle.
