[Milsurplus] Torn.E.b. and pot metal

Some years ago, I had success repairing a pot metal bracket in a couple of
BC-223 transmitters using a micro-crack filling compound from Locktite and
epoxy. Those repairs seem to have held since then, but the disintegration
is certain to continue at some level.

Modern technology might provide a better answer.

"3D printing" is progressing rapidly and the choice of materials with which
to create durable custom parts is expanding. This turret bracket and others
such as the one in the BC-223 seem excellent candidates for 3D printing.
You'd need an intact example from which to take dimensions or a talent
person to re-create them. You can rent the machines affordably. I've
watched one "print" a low-speed bearing with complex, internal compound
gears that turned and worked perfectly.
