Subject: [Milsurplus] AB-15 MS antenna sections

The problem is that every time that dam whip gets wet the sections somehow
weld themselves together. What going on here? Now I got three sections that
won't come apart no matter what I do. Had two parts that were stuck together
from back in Aberdeen this spring and now three that are stuck together. Is
there something that's supposed to go on the threads prior to assembly to
prevent this? And is there any way to disassemble these things without
destroying them in the process? I would like to think that this is an all
weather operation around here but looks like rain has bad effects on any use
of these MS mast sections.

Go get some plain acetone from the Paint aisle and a bottle of ATF
transmission fluid. Mix them 50-50 in a jar and shake to mix.
They will not mix well so you have to use them quickly while the
ATF is still mostly in suspension and/or keep mixing it.
Use a brush to liberally paint the suspension over the stuck
joint so it has a chance to penetrate into the thread. Leave
for an hour. Paint them again. Come back in an hour and
see if they will come apart. Repeat if needed until it comes
loose, though I've rarely had to repeat more than once.
WAY better than "PB Blaster" or any other product I've tried.
Even rust-stuck bolts have come out with this stuff.
