Examining the added HV and Medium Voltage power supply, I find that all the chokes and
transformers are GE brand. There is a large GE choke rated at 15 Henries at 420 mA.
This would further suggest to me that the mods are OEM.
Secondly, behind what I assume is a blank panel just to the left of the IPA stage, there is
another power supply which includes a very large horizontally mounted transformer of the
type normally used in console TV sets, there are 4 ea top-hat type silicon diodes, a choke
and two capacitors, one of which is a very large and plastic encased Mallory electrolytic 500
mfd and 200 VDC.
I am assuming that this is the 115 VDC power supply required by the rig.
All wiring is very carefully and professionally laced and connected to terminal strips. Wires
are carefully run in straight lines with right angle bends. There is nothing sloppy about this
entire rig.
I am becoming more and more mystified by this thing the further I dig into it.
However, I repeat: it is horribly dirty. Lots of work will be required just to clean it properly.
Has ANYONE heard of GE modifying their mil rigs for special purposes?
BTW, the serial number of this transmitter is 12.
And it was wired for 220 VAC input.
I also found two more tuning charts behind the one I photographed. One of them is full from
top to bottom with frequencies, mostly in the 2 to 3.5 MHz range.
