The AN/UQS-1 is the 1951-era mine-locating sonar for the 93-ship USS Agile (MSO-451) class of ocean-going minesweepers.

Some ships remained in USN service until the early 1990s, and included Viet Nam service. There were several based at Charleston SC when I was stationed there in the mid-1970s. The AN/USQ-1 was replaced by the AN/SQQ-14 in the late 1960s, which later became the AN/SQQ-30 and -32 mine location and classification sonar.

There's a restoration of one ship, USS Lucid (MSO-458), in progress on the left coast:

The only minesweeper time I had was in 1973 at Vlissingen on the Royal Netherlands Navy Hr.Ms. Beemster (M845). After 20 years RNN service, it was still owned by the USN and was in the Naval Vessel Register as coastal minesweeper MSC-105. At 400 tons, it was too small to have a mine-locating sonar.
