I was looking at a GRC-9 tonite, considering whether to take it a hamfest, but decided to put off selling it for now,
as i thought the junky junk on my table would tend to drag down the price of anything good i offered.

However, looking at it, i noticed the receiver nameplate was only fastened by one screw on one corner. I pushed
the plate aside and noticed there was not a screw hole to fasten another corner. In fact, there are only two screw holes,
and they would only fit a smaller nameplate, about ¾ the size of the usual size nameplate. The transmitter section
serial is Lewyt #15551. The receiver nameplate is #11. So i surmise the early GRC-9 receiver nameplate was smaller
and fastened by only one screw each on the left and right sides. I do not have a junker early set and in fact, i can't recall
seeing one with such a nameplate.
Complications.
I suppose i could cut the heads off 4 nameplate mounting screws glue them and the nameplate in place. What fun.
Complications.
Have you seen such a GRC-9 nameplate, a smaller one?
