Subject: [Milsurplus] RME-45 Receiver- Information?
I just acquired a very cool-looking RME-45 receiver
for a very affordable price.
This is the "late" -45 with the VR-150 and the calibrated
bandspread, not the 45B. I have the SAMS
and the Google-available information.
Here's some photos:

Looking for more info:
1. What is the speaker impedance? Ans. 4 / 6 ohms depending on which manual you check
2. What is the pin-out of the octal socket on the
left side of the chassis rear (not in the available
information)? Does it need "muting" jumper? Ans. Must be an add-on by the dreaded previous owner, not found on my example
3. Are the fixed capacitors in the IF transformers
commonly bad?Ans. Don't know, have yet to restore my RME-45
4. Do the IF tuning capacitors have "press fit" collars
that crack like those in TCS?Ans. Dito
5. Any common failures like the AVC to B+ leaks in
Nationals and TCS?
6. Anyone ever install a temp. compensation cap
on the Osc section like is done in HROs?
7. Any other "hints and kinks?"Ans. Antenna tuners were available with matching style cabinets, DB-20, DB-22, DB-23 HF Tuners and the VHF-152 converter. Possibly others dressed up in military style.
