[Milsurplus] BC-1000 volume ?

Anyone know how loud a BC-1000 from a handset can get?
Was reading "Battleground Pacific" , Sterling Mace with Nick Allen, 2012, a combat Marine's account of Peleliu, Ngesbus,
and Okinawa - he was talking about listening to something coming in on the "spam can", which i wondered about for a bit,
until i realized it was a BC-1000 ( SCR-300 ). So i'm wondering if they were taking turns listening or if with the volume turned
up, more than one person could hear.
