Also used by the US Navy in the following aircraft, at least according

Curtiss R3C-1  (Also given the "paper" designation F3C as a fighter in 
the US Navy designation system)
Douglas R4D-3 (a small group of C-53Cs (Skytrooper) that were 
transferred to USN)
Lockheed R50-5 "Lodestar"

It was supplanted by the AN/ARC-2, in the military's continuing quest 
for a single box that would do the work of a transceiver.  By then, the 
major activity had shifted from HF to VHF and eventually UHF, so all the 
subsequent single box transceiver solutions went with those bands.
