Took down my antennas because of putting on a new roof.  The vertical was not acting like an antenna, so as long as it was down, took it apart to clean all the joints and connections.  After finally figuring out how to get the base apart, found it full of water.  I had noticed that the SO239 was corroded, and was going to replace it.  Looks like the folks in China are not sealing the top of the Base unit where they solder the output from the broad band transformer to the 21 or so feet of tubing.  If you have one of these you might check it.  Maybe I got the Friday lunch one.
