That's in sitting on the box, it would have been more interesting to see 
the front  panel rather than the rear.

It's a panoramic adapter for355-585 Khz IFs , 3YP1 CRT which is 3" wide 
and about 1" high, used in many SDUs.  It was reviewed in June 1962 QST 
and there's a poor quality picture.   Sold for $180 and must have been a 
flash in the pan.
