Digging into another stack of paper to triage, i see in Radio & Television
News, Mar 1949, the article 'Airline Radio'.

About equipment on American Airlines 'Constellation' plane on New York -
London route. Lists:

2x AN/ART-13 for both pilot and R.O. use; one tx as standby

2x RA-1B rec.; article says one receiver can be devoted to each terminal
end of route

W.E. 29-A crystal controlled rec. 10 channel for pilot use, voice

AN/ARC-1 for pilot com with control tower

AN/APN-9 LORAN for navigator

AVQ-9 altimeter for navigator

AVQ-6 low altitude altimeter for pilot

MN-26K manual DF; pilot and R.O. controlled

MN-62A ADF; pilot and navigator controlled

MN-53A marker receiver

BC-733-D localizer rec ( "to be replaced by Collins 51-R" )

R-89B glide path rec

I was mostly interested to see the RA-1 associated with the ART-13. So that
pairing in your own station would be not a fantasy.

Also was interested to read at this date, domestic flights had no more R.O.,
but overseas flight still did. My question is, when was

the R.O. position on overseas flights also dispensed with?
