[Milsurplus] factoid: BC-611 in Australian service

I saw in "Jungle Warfare - with the Australian Army in South-West Pacific (
1944 ) a sketch captioned "Patrol Leader Reporting 'No contact' ", 

showing a soldier using what clearly is a BC-611. The sketch is signed not
by name but by the artist's serial.
