Weather was not as bad as predicted but there were at least two periods of showers today, one in the morning and one late afternoon. I forgot to mention about the ASB 5 and 6 receivers and transmitters in unmodified condition for $25 and $35 each. And the people with a whole load of old URC-35 stuff along with the matching transmitter and a bunch of ARC stuff. Did see at least two R-390 up for sale today that I did not see yesterday and several ARC-5 receivers.
The 3885 net at noon was hosted by a ARR-15/ART-13 set up and had around thirty check ins with a good showing of BC-611, a pogo stuck and lots of newer military radios and the Cold War Net on 51.0 had just as many if not more with PRC-68,126, SEM-52 and PRC-25 in attendance. I used my Russian R-148
One of the benefits of being here is things like what happened to me today in that I was just looking at picking up a VRC-12 transceiver and for the cost of that ended up taking the entire load of military stuff a seller had so there are always bargains for those who come, that along with picking up a rather old Coast Guard receiver from the thirties that I had been looking at on EBay for half of what it was listed for on that site, so I have to say again there are bargains to be had at the Hamvention and everyone should plan attending at least once.
