The weather was better than expected with the rain holding off until after six local, there were threats that caused many to start packing early but no rain. Every year has something that shows up in big numbers, couple years ago there were lots of R-390 or lots of ART-13or something. This year is the year of the SP-600, I saw several from $300 up, and also for some reason there were lots of AM-6135 amplifiers in the $250 range. Lots of KWM-2 transceivers from $400 up and saw things like AN/GRC-106 sets for $350, Collins 651S receiver for $700 and several PRC-74 sets for $450 and up. What looked like very clean PRC-47 sets for $500 and a PRC-104 with accessories for $1,500 and at least two T-195 transmitters but no R-392 receivers? As far as old stuff goes saw lots of ARC-5 stuff like a complete unmodified ARC-5 two transmitter rack with transmitters for $90, couple BC-348 receivers in unmodified condition for $150 and an R-274 for $500, big huge Navy RAA/RBB regenitive receivers with power supplies and cables that were left sitting on the ground for $50 each.
There were the typical dealers with higher priced stuff that are always there so if you were to attend with the idea of purchasing mill spec equipment you would not be disappointed.
Attendance appears to be the same or a small amount more than last year and we will see how things turn out tomorrow. Typical for Dayton they are calling for rain.
