[Milsurplus] AT-503/URR

Does anyone know the application of AT-503/URR?  It is made from the same 
copper clad steel tubing as the MS-116-A and has the same male threads.  So 
it would screw into the top of one of them.  It is about 8" long and the top 
1/2" of the tube is mashed flat.  It is painted and the nomenclature 
silk-screened in the same manner as are the MS-116-A, MS-117-A and MS-118-A.  I 
would guess that it is 
mid to late 50's vintage.
