Chris at radionerds sent to me this morning his scanned and PDFed copy of
the Hutchens' info that Hue Miller so kindly recently sent to him.

I have passed that PDF on to Jim.

It is very interesting and helpful, although I suspect that Hutchens receiver
was an early model since I did not experience several of the problems he
addresses in this document when I used one of my own SRR-13s some time
ago.

Even so, I find this document to be very valuable, and I thank both Hue and
Chris for their kindnesses in making it available.

I will repeat what I said earlier about these SRR receivers: I consider them to
be very, very nice receivers, and I think they would make a useful and
valuable addition to any ham station.

BTW, Hutchens mentions that at the time he wrote the article, submini tubes
were difficult to find. However, at this time, I find they are very easily found,
NIB, on eBay and from other tube sellers such as ESRC, and they are very
cheap. No one seems to understand how very good those tubes are.
