Yes, sending was "monitored" in the receivers, and yes, the receivers and 
transmitters usually used separate antennas, but normally, sending and 
receiving were on two fairly widely separated frequencies.

One of my RAL-6s came out of the fleet submarine, Pintado. It went to a 
user in Tennessee.
