Al, good introduction, and if not for the weight, i'd get one!
Thanks!
BTW, the mystery antenna thing on your site: if i had to take a wild guess,
and i don't know the actual size of the thing from the photo,
i'd guess it's part of the "Modular Set" shown in one of K Melton's books.
Also, no reason to have "Feind Hoert Mit" on a receiver.
You can buy a manual copy from a supplier in Germany. His QTH resides on a
dead computer here, but with some digging, you can find
a source. The price is nothing, but don't expect a very helpful manual.
One of the Norwegians has a photo of the FuHE series with the front panel
off, and it looks like you're looking into the innards of a
(mechanical ) watch.
I have a FuHEa which has some kind of mechanical problem. When you tilt the
thing, you hear a big "CLUNK!". I haven't had the inclination
yet to open and see what awaits me. Partly out of dread, partly because of
the not very useful freq coverage of the radio.
Your mystery regen receiver: DOES look reminiscent of the CMS but the
construction kind of looks "telco". But why would the telco need
a portable HF receiver, of about 1935 design?

the AR-88, the best-general coverage HF receiver of WWII.

Enjoy,
