[Milsurplus] Collins 18S-4A interesting observation

Well, it may be interesting to some folks.

I acquired one of these sets yesterday, quite
dirty after who knows how many years of semi-
outside storage(it was in a shed that had
collapsed).

After cleaning it up,I noticed that the connectors and their spacing
were the same as the Bendix RTA-1B, so I compared manuals,
and it turns out that the pin connections between the
two are mostly the same. Control functions, audio, grounds
and some of the primary power connections match up between
the two sets.

So I'm led to wonder if one of the design criteria for the
Collins 18S4 radio was to be an almost plug and play replacement for
the older Bendix RTA-1 set?

The radio cleaned up OK, and getting it running looks promising.
Biggest question now is how well off the dynamotor is.
