Look at that antenna loading coil. That's for around 2 - 4 MHz.
I have some Northern equipment going back to mid 1930s. Much of the
documentation is hard to find or simply unobtainable, gone.
I don't know if i could have saved anything, but i kind of wish i still
lived up there when Northern went under.
Did you know? Seattle is actually the biggest fishing port on the West
Coast.
Northern Radio of Seattle is sometimes confused with the 'East Coast'
Northern Radio, which dealt in teletype - related equipment.
The Seattle company was for most of its history named 'Northern
Radiotelephone Co.', and had the longest lifespan of about a half
dozen local comm radio manufacturers.
If you don't find anything, might want to use a schematic from a similar
Brand X boat radio to get an idea of your rig's floor plan.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Forest Service Northern Radio Company Type 450

At HamCom in Dallas today, I found a cool little Forest Service radio built
by Northern Radio Company, called a "Type 450" which came from a forest
worker
in Alaska. 1960s Transistor/Tube hybrid.
6 Crystal controlled channels. 455 KC IF.
Callsign penciled on it: "BLM 139341"
I traced the primary power and can light it up.
Audio stages are working.
The previous owner had it marked "10 and 15 meters"
but the coils in it sure don't look like 10 meters.
Appears to run on 6 VDC Battery.
Nothing on Google. Does anyone have any information on this neat little
rig? Photos at:

Do have the case just forgot to take a photo.
Anything? Please?
