Hi
I’ve run into a number of “kids” who not only know what tubes are, but are quite capable of hacking tube based
gear. Yes, most of them are into audio rather than RF. Some of them got into it working on old guitar amps. Some
got into it via the “tube Hi Fi” route. The people are out there. It’s just a matter of hooking up with them.
Have I made any money based on this? Nope not even close. I have found warm homes for a number of items….

I was there in the late late '60's & 70's when the big transition from tube to solid-state occurred. I wound up with tons of pro audio gear. Most of it was throw away or cheap. I held onto it for 40 years just because

I've been selling it on ebay for the past 15 years. $40,000 3M / 24 track recorder went for $1K and the "collector" had to drive from Seattle Washington to Arkansas to pick it up ! I most likely lost money on all my sales due to storage fees all these years. But, it has let me buy a bunch of old RF gear that nobody wants ! Just look at my QRZed page. That's just a fraction of it.
