BTW, there is no essential difference between, say, the RAK-5 through RAK-8. At the very 
most, the only component changed in any of those different models was the antenna 
connector, the 7 and 8 using a big Navy shielded type, while the earlier models used heavy 
duty push types.

Also, a difference in model numbers reflects different makers. The 8 was made by Motorola, 
for instance.

Otherwise, the receivers are identical.

Same thing goes for the RAL.
