  The light aluminum construction of these is actually admirably executed 
and attractive. Unless it's been poorly stored or transported and
the light alu cabinet is bent up.
I recall using the HF receiver as an SWL receiver. In the 6 MHz band, 
which was pretty crowded - at that time - i was unhappy with the
poor selectivity, the splashover from nearby stations, and by the fast 
travel of the tuning on the 15 MHz band.  For pure SWL station
listening, something like an old Zenith TO with spread bands would have 
actually been easier to use, tho not as good weak signal
sensitivity. I found the RBM to be fun to use for copying CW tho, and 
may be more usable today when the bands are less crowded.
